This Tengu Hakama is superb value and undoubtedly one of the most popular beginner’s Hakama in the world.  Nine Circles introduced this model to the range back in 2004 and we haven’t looked back since.  

 

Cut from Polyester-Rayon, also known as Tetron, this fabric is a great easy-care material for Hakama as it holds its shape well, folds easily and is very easy to keep looking clean and smart.

 

The fabric is dyed in a non-indigo dark blue colour which prevents dye loss, whilst maintaining the desired traditional appearance.

 

A classic cut Hakama, sizes are based on length only in the traditional way, with the width remaining constant regardless of garment drop.  Check out the tooltip alongside the size menu to confirm the way to measure up correctly.

I bought one of these hakama when I returned to practice after a VERY long hiatus. Got it because it was cheap, but have found that if it is looked after, it will serve you well for many years. Definitely not as “posh” as the cotton ones, but it’s not as heavy either, and it also doesn’t suffer from shrinkage problems. It washes well and retains its colour. If you iron the pleats, they will remain as sharp as a shinken. That was five years ago. Bloody good hakama!

Excellent product
I bought these for my girlfriend and they were excellent value. The staff were very helpful and with their guideance I managed to get exactly the right size. I'll definately come to them in future.
